About the position
The Dockhand/Maintenance role at Safe Harbor Marinas involves assisting the marina and maintenance teams to provide excellent service to customers and guests. This position includes a variety of tasks such as operating docks, performing property maintenance, and ensuring a safe and clean environment throughout the marina facilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide SHM members with the best experience possible
- Greet all customers in a courteous and professional manner
- Help orient members and guests to the marina and facilities
- Assist customers with general boating needs
- Maintain and clean restrooms, docks, walkways, and grounds
- Assist with dockhand responsibilities including audits and property clean up
- Ensure docks and equipment are operational at all times
- Perform general repair and maintenance related to the marina
- Assist with maintenance service and repairs in plumbing, carpentry, painting, landscaping, and cleaning
- Comply with OSHA and environmental regulations
- Availability to work overtime when required
- Ability to work weekends and holidays
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Ability to work safely around water
- Must be able to swim
- Ability to lift 30 pounds
- Basic boat handling skills preferred
- Previous marina experience preferred
- Knowledge of basic power tools preferred
- Previous customer service experience preferred
