About the position

The Dockhand is responsible for assisting the marina team to provide excellent service to marina customers and guests. This role involves a variety of tasks related to the operation of the docks, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Provide SHM members with the best experience possible
• Greet all customers in a kind, courteous, and professional manner
• Help orient members and guests to the marina and facilities
• Assist customers with general boating needs
• Maintain and clean restrooms, docks, walkways, grounds, and other areas designated by management
• Ensure docks and equipment are operational at all times
• Comply with OSHA regulations and environmental regulations
• Availability to work overtime when required
• Ability to work weekends and holidays
• Other duties as assigned by Manager
• Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training
• Wear proper personal protective equipment as required for the task or work area
• Report all accidents, injuries, spills, and near misses immediately

Requirements

• Ability to work safely around the water
• Must be able to swim
• Ability to lift 30 pounds
• Basic boat handling skills preferred
• Previous marina experience preferred
• Previous customer service experience preferred
