About the position

The Dockworker, Warehousing position at Estes Forwarding Worldwide (EFW) involves safely and efficiently unloading, sorting, handling, and loading freight according to various regulations and instructions. This role is crucial for maintaining the flow of logistics and warehousing solutions for clients across different industries. The position requires teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to operate equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks once authorized.

Responsibilities

• Safely unload, sort, handle, and load freight according to instructions and regulations.
• Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas using hand or equipment.
• Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material needs.
• Control and maintain records for accurate, on-time completion of shipments.
• Work in a team environment to accomplish work assignments.
• Use computers, email, scanners, and warehouse management systems to track inventory and create paperwork.
• Support and promote company core values.
• Comply with company security procedures and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-2 years of experience in a related field.
• Ability to operate forklifts or pallet jacks once authorized.
• Attention to detail and good follow-up skills.
• Ability to read and interpret general business documents.
• Ability to write routine reports and general business correspondence.
• Ability to work independently or in a team setting in a fast-paced environment.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
• Excellent spelling, grammar, and written/oral communication skills.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working in the Freight Forwarding or Transportation industry preferred.
• Forklift certification preferred.
