About the position

The Dockworker, Warehousing position at Estes Forwarding Worldwide (EFW) involves safely and efficiently unloading, sorting, handling, and loading freight in compliance with various regulations. This role is crucial for maintaining the flow of logistics and warehousing solutions for clients across different industries. The position requires teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to operate equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks once authorized.

Responsibilities

• Safely unload, sort, handle, and load freight according to instructions and regulations.
• Move freight, stock, or materials to and from storage or production areas using hand or equipment.
• Read work orders or receive instructions to determine work assignments or material needs.
• Maintain records for accurate, on-time completion of shipments.
• Collaborate in a team environment to accomplish work assignments.
• Utilize computers and warehouse management systems to track inventory and create paperwork.
• Support and promote company core values.
• Comply with security procedures and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-2 years of experience in a related field preferred.
• Ability to operate forklifts or pallet jacks once authorized.
• Attention to detail and good follow-up skills.
• Ability to read and interpret business documents and write routine reports.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
• Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with all levels of an organization.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Nice-to-haves

• Forklift certification preferred.
• Experience in the Freight Forwarding or Transportation industry.
