About the position

The Dockworker, Warehousing position at Estes Forwarding Worldwide (EFW) involves safely and efficiently unloading, sorting, handling, and loading freight in compliance with various regulations. This role is essential for maintaining the flow of goods within the logistics and warehousing operations of the company, which is recognized as a leading freight forwarder in the U.S. The position requires teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to operate equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks once authorized.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently unload, sort, handle, and load freight according to instructions and regulations.
• Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas using hand or equipment.
• Read work orders or receive instructions to determine work assignments or material needs.
• Control and maintain records for accurate, on-time completion of shipments.
• Work collaboratively in a team environment to accomplish assignments.
• Utilize computers, email, scanners, and warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory tracking and documentation.
• Support and promote company core values.
• Comply with company security procedures and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-2 years of experience in a related field, with a preference for experience in Freight Forwarding or Transportation industry.
• Ability to operate forklifts or pallet jacks once authorized.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel, and job-specific software applications.
• Strong attention to detail and good follow-up skills.
• Ability to read and interpret business documents and write routine reports.
• Good judgment and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
