About the position

The Doctor's Assistant/Receptionist/Optometric Technician role involves supporting optometrists in providing eye care services, managing patient interactions, and performing administrative tasks. This position is essential for ensuring a smooth workflow in the clinic and enhancing patient experience through effective communication and care.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preliminary testing and data collection for patients, including visual acuity, lensometry, and tonometry.
  • Assist with patient intake and medical history documentation.
  • Enter patient information into electronic medical record systems (Crystal PM).
  • Prepare examination rooms and equipment for optometrist use.
  • Assist with contact lens fittings and instructions.
  • Educate patients on proper eye care and contact lens hygiene.
  • Perform basic administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing patient records.
  • Process insurance claims and handle medical billing tasks.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and order new stock as needed.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills to manage patient records and appointment schedules.
  • Excellent attention to detail for accurate data entry and record keeping.
