About the position

The Document Automation Technician (EMS) position within the Department of Defense is responsible for managing administrative duties related to the Equipment Management Solutions (EMS) program. This role involves ensuring the accuracy of EMS asset entries in the DLA Enterprise Business System (EBS), managing accounts receivable processes, and resolving customer billing issues. The position requires collaboration with various specialists and involves occasional travel. It is a full-time, permanent role with promotion potential to GS-7.

Responsibilities

  • Post EMS assets into the DLA Enterprise Business System (EBS) ensuring accuracy of each entry.
  • Manage administrative responsibilities of EMS billing, funding, and asset management processes.
  • Send and receive EMS customer renewal packages requesting funding from customers.
  • Review funding balances and return unused funding to customers.
  • Work with EPC EMS Funding and Asset Master Specialist to prevent EMS accounts receivable from aging over 90 days.
  • Reconcile customer accounts as needed or as directed.
  • Maintain off-line Excel spreadsheet or database for all funding of assets.
  • Manually create sales orders for purchases and billing not automatically generated by the EBS system.
  • Participate in conference calls with the assigned EPC Branch team to address customer concerns and meet overall EMS program objectives.
  • Resolve customer billing issues and seek assistance on complex issues from EPC Order Specialist and EPC Branch Chief.

Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level in the Federal service, military, or private sector.
  • Experience resolving customer billing issues, including the return of unused customer funds.
  • Experience assisting with the contractual process of Equipment Management Solutions (EMS).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with DLA Enterprise Business System (EBS).
  • Proficiency in Excel and database management.
