About the position

The Document Control Specialist is responsible for managing documents essential to the manufacturing and control of Wells Enterprises products across all facilities. This role involves document creation, editing, publishing, version control, and retention, ensuring compliance with Quality & Food Safety requirements, regulatory standards, and manufacturing best practices. The specialist collaborates with various departments to ensure accurate documentation and maintains an online library for easy access to the most recent documents.

Responsibilities

  • Manage documents used in the manufacture and control of products across all manufacturing facilities.
  • Create, edit, publish, and control versions of documents such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other essential guides.
  • Follow the Document Control Request (DCR) process for document preparation, review, and revisions.
  • Solicit feedback and ensure accuracy of documents across impacted departments.
  • Maintain the online library to ensure the most recent documents are published and available for use.
  • Provide metadata on controlled documents for ease of use within Document Library and HCM Learn.
  • Participate in project teams and update documentation as needed for project implementation.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with employees, departments, leadership, and SMEs to ensure documentation accuracy.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Business, Science, Technical Writing, Training, or a related discipline required.
  • 3 years of previous technical writing experience desired.
  • Demonstrated experience with technical manufacturing/control programs required.
  • Previous experience in an FDA/USDA/EPA regulated industry is desired.
  • Knowledge of writing instructional and prescriptive documents for manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and understanding of Regulatory and Quality Assurance principles.
  • Skilled in the proficient use of Microsoft Office software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Secondary education including writing coursework would be a plus.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing principles, specifically food or nutritional products, and/or general laboratory operations beneficial.
