About the position

The Document Controller at Murphy Oil Corporation is responsible for managing the transfer, handling, and storage of documentation related to project and production operations. This role ensures adherence to the company's Global Document Control policies, administers training sessions, and coordinates system updates with IT and business stakeholders. The Document Controller actively maintains a Master Document Register and supports the developments team in following Management of Change (MOC) workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the transfer, handling, and storage of project and production operations documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to Murphy's Global Document Control policies.
  • Administer training sessions for the electronic document management system.
  • Coordinate system updates with IT and business stakeholders.
  • Maintain a Master Document Register consisting of engineering drawings, specifications, procedures, and plans.
  • Monitor due dates for reviews and expedite overdue documents.
  • File electronic and hard copy technical documentation.
  • Support the developments team in following Management of Change (MOC) workflows.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in document management, archive management, or records management.
  • Strong technical understanding of technical and engineering documents.
  • Ability to think strategically and innovatively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Library Sciences, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of M-Files as Document Management System.
