About the position

The Document Control Specialist will support Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers in managing engineering documents according to government and company regulations for various permanent design projects. This role is essential in ensuring that documentation processes are efficient and compliant, contributing to the overall success of design-build projects.

Responsibilities

  • Support and assist in the management of engineering documents according to government regulations and company procedures.
  • Process internal and external distribution of engineering documentation on incoming and outgoing workflows.
  • Prepare transmittals for document distribution as directed.
  • Review and conduct quality checks of documents as needed.
  • Configure, update, and maintain engineering document management systems and permissions.
  • Update and maintain various distribution matrixes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, information management, information technology, data management, or computer information systems preferred.
  • 1+ years' experience with advanced knowledge of operational procedures and tools.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with effective organization and coordination skills.
  • Ability to identify and utilize the correct tools, systems, and techniques to index, file, and control engineering documents.
  • Ability to remain flexible when dealing with changing requirements.
  • Ability to multi-task and work proactively to resolve issues.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team-based environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with software such as Bluebeam, Adobe Pro, or Smartsheet.
  • Familiarity with EDMS such as InEight Document, SharePoint, ProjectWise, Aconex, or Documentum.
  • Knowledge of construction and engineering-related terms.
  • Understanding of design build, progressive design build, and CMGC/CMAR contract models.
  • Knowledge of Bluebeam Studio for comment resolution.
