About the position

The Document Specialist role at Church Mutual involves creating, designing, and composing complex documents using various software applications. This position requires independent judgment and attention to detail, as well as the ability to assist and train other staff members. The role is hybrid, requiring two days per week in the office, and is focused on supporting the organization's mission to serve purpose-driven organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Create, design, program, and compose complex documents using various software applications.
  • Make independent decisions in creating forms, form letters, and templates for department and corporate users.
  • Organize and prioritize work to balance assignments with overlapping deadlines.
  • Create and maintain training manuals/materials for the department and the company.
  • Proofread work for proper English, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and format.
  • Communicate with company staff regarding their requests and prepare monthly workload management reports.
  • Maintain confidentiality of work processed.
  • Take minutes at meetings and distribute them appropriately.
  • Complete special projects when requested.
  • Train and assist other employees in hardware and software products and department procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional schooling is highly desirable.
  • Advanced knowledge of English, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; basic knowledge of Adobe, Livecycle, and Cincom Eloquence is highly desirable.
  • Advanced knowledge of hardware and software configurations.
  • Ability to pay high attention to detail and adhere to strict accuracy/quality/consistency standards.
  • Ability to follow and apply processing guidelines and procedures to daily work activities.
  • Effective communication and interaction skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Commitment to ongoing education, training, and development activities.
  • Above average typing/keyboarding skills.
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work and handle multiple assignments to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to set up complex word processing formats and use technical reference materials.
  • Ability to train others and demonstrate creativity in presentation design.

Nice-to-haves

  • Basic knowledge of Adobe, Livecycle, and Cincom Eloquence.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, and Adobe InDesign.
  • Familiarity with Eloquence, Adobe Photoshop, Binding/Laminating/Plotter, Visio, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft PowerPoint, and PSI Capture.
