About the position

The Document Validation Specialist (DVS) plays a crucial role in developing and validating Damage Descriptions and Dimensions (DDD), Scopes of Work (SOW), and associated costs for completed projects based on documentation provided by Public Assistance (PA) applicants. This position ensures that all project documentation is consistent and adequately supported, facilitating effective project management and compliance with FEMA guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate Damage Descriptions and Dimensions (DDD), Scopes of Work (SOW), and Costs for completed work.
  • Enter project details into the Grants Manager (GM) system.
  • Ensure consistency among DDD, SOW, and cost estimates.
  • Utilize standard sampling methodology to verify project documentation when multiple items are involved.
  • Document requirements for incomplete projects in a Request for Information (RFI).
  • Collaborate with the Program Delivery Manager (PDMG) and Lane Task Force Lead to resolve outstanding requests.
  • Perform peer reviews of projects formulated by other team members.

Requirements

  • General FEMA Public Assistance (PA) experience preferred.
  • Experience in PA grant documentation review or project development.
  • Ability to validate PA grant documentation and develop or review Damage Descriptions and Dimensions (DDD), Scopes of Work (SOW), and Cost Estimates.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Grants Manager (GM) system.
