About the position

The DOD Acquisition Program Manager is a pivotal role within Vana Solutions, responsible for overseeing program management services in alignment with contract requirements and the company's established policies, procedures, and guidelines. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of the Department of Defense (DOD) acquisition processes and the ability to navigate complex organizational objectives. The Program Manager will be tasked with developing governance documentation for both existing and new processes, ensuring that all documentation meets the necessary standards and requirements. In this role, the Program Manager will author critical acquisition documents, including Performance Work Statements (PWS), Statements of Work (SOW), Analysis of Alternatives (AoA), and Requests for Information (RFIs) related to DOD IT programs. The ability to draft, edit, and present programmatic documents and Program Management Review (PMR) charts up to the General Officer/Program Executive Officer (GO/PEO) level is essential. Additionally, the Program Manager will be responsible for writing and briefing professional-level risks and issues, developing program costs, schedules, and performance metrics, and gathering customer requirements and use cases. The position also involves analyzing system requirements and assisting in their documentation, as well as creating support artifacts that align with business requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in business or science, along with demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills. With over 8 years of experience in DOD acquisition supporting Air Force systems, the candidate should hold a current or past Government Acquisition Program Management DAWIA Level II certification, with a PMP certification being a plus. Knowledge of the DOD Acquisition Framework and Agile methodology is preferred, along with a solid understanding of business analysis principles, processes, and techniques. The Program Manager must exhibit strong organizational skills in complex, fast-paced environments and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. A results-oriented, self-motivated team player with a positive attitude and strong facilitation skills is essential for guiding diverse groups to consensus.

Responsibilities

  • Developing governance documentation for both current and new processes.
  • Authoring acquisition documents such as PWS, SOWs, AoA, and RFIs for market research related to DOD IT programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or science.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • 8+ years of experience in DOD acquisition supporting AF systems.
  • Current or past Government Acquisition Program Management DAWIA Level II certification.
  • PMP certification would be a plus.
  • Knowledge of different methods of the DOD Acquisition Framework.
  • Preferable experience or knowledge in Agile methodology.
  • Understanding of business analysis principles, processes, and techniques.
  • Ability to plan and organize in complex, fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Results-oriented, self-motivated, team player with a positive attitude.
  • Strong facilitation skills, especially in guiding diverse groups to a decision or consensus.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Residing within 50 miles of Dayton, Ohio.
  • Active Secret clearance preferred.
