About the position

As a DOD Secret Linux Systems Administrator at Associates Systems LLC, you will play a critical role in the management and deployment of platform environments, specifically focusing on AWS and Linux systems. Your primary responsibilities will include creating, implementing, and managing platform deployments, ensuring that they meet the operational needs of developers and the organization. You will be tasked with setting up and maintaining AWS environments, which requires a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and services. In this position, you will work closely with developers to ensure that the platform meets their requirements and provides the necessary support for their applications. Your expertise will be essential in operational management, particularly in monitoring and managing the platform effectively. You will also manage virtualized Linux and Windows systems, ensuring their optimal performance and availability. A significant part of your role will involve developing and delivering configuration and deployment automation. You will utilize tools such as Terraform and Ansible to continuously improve the functionality, availability, and manageability of the platform and its associated services. Additionally, you will be responsible for setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, and collaborating with developers to troubleshoot any issues that arise. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong commitment to operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Create, implement, and manage platform deployments.
• Set up and maintain AWS environments.
• Work closely with developers to ensure platform meets their needs.
• Provide expertise for operational management of monitoring and platform management.
• Manage virtualized Linux and/or Windows (2016 and above) systems.
• Develop and deliver configuration and deployment automation utilizing tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Set up administrator and service accounts, maintain system documentation.
• Collaborate with developers in troubleshooting issues.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience in related fields or technologies to this job description.
• Subject Matter Expertise in AWS and System Administration of Linux/Unix Operating System.
• Experience developing automation solutions with competence in scripting languages for automating frequently executed activities.
• Experience with IaC technologies such as Terraform and/or Ansible.
• Experience with Automation and scripting.
• Experience troubleshooting Operating Systems and Applications.
• Strong experience working as part of a team collaborating on problem resolution.
