About the position

As a Dog Daycare Attendant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of dogs in a daycare setting. Your primary responsibility will be to supervise and monitor the dogs, engaging them in playtime activities that promote exercise and socialization. You will also provide basic grooming services, such as brushing and bathing, to maintain the dogs' hygiene. In addition, you will be responsible for administering medications or treatments as directed by the owner or veterinarian, ensuring that each dog's health needs are met. Maintaining a clean and safe environment is essential, so you will be tasked with cleaning and sanitizing the daycare facility, including play areas and restrooms. Monitoring dog behavior is critical, and you will need to intervene in any aggressive or unsafe situations to protect the dogs and ensure a harmonious environment. You will assist with feeding and providing water to the dogs as needed, and it will be important to maintain accurate records of each dog's activities, behavior, and health. This position requires strong communication skills, as you will interact with dog owners and other staff members regularly. You will also be responsible for answering phones and emails, checking animals in and out of the facility, and collecting payments for services rendered. This is a full-time position, and you must be available to work from 6 am to 3 pm, with flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with dogs in a professional setting, such as a veterinary clinic, animal shelter, or dog daycare
  • Knowledge of dog behavior and ability to recognize signs of stress or aggression
  • Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and breeds safely and confidently
  • Strong communication skills to interact with dog owners and other staff members
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) and standing for extended periods of time
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
