About the position

Beyond the Dog, LLC is seeking experienced dog trainers to join their Houston team. This full-time position offers a compressed work schedule with a four-day workweek and flexible Fridays. Trainers will provide high-level dog training services, sometimes including cat training, in clients' homes throughout Houston, under the guidance of a training mentor. The role emphasizes ethical dog training and a strong focus on client experience, with opportunities for professional development and certification.

Responsibilities

• Travel to clients' homes throughout Houston to provide dog training services.
• Follow established training protocols under the guidance of a training mentor.
• Average a workload of 25-28 training sessions across four days per week.
• Optionally board and train dogs in your home, though this is not required.
• Maintain a strong focus on client experience and ethical dog training.
• Work independently and efficiently.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Psychology, Animal Sciences, or a related field.
• One year of professional experience handling dogs in a veterinary or daycare setting.
• One year of previous experience training dogs is preferred.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to operate well in high-paced situations.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in dog training for at least one year is ideal.
