About The Position

We are seeking reliable and responsible individuals to join our team as Dog Walkers & Pet Sitters in Madison and surrounding towns. This position involves providing exercise and companionship to pets, ensuring their safety and well-being while engaging in playtime activities. It is a year-round role with flexible scheduling, allowing for 3-5 days of work per week, and offers on-the-job training and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

• LOVE both dogs and cats
• Experience with dogs and their behavior with the ability to handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately
• Physical stamina to walk multiple dogs for extended periods of time
• Ability to handle heavy lifting, as some dogs may be large or require assistance
• Professional, neat and tidy in clients' homes
• Tech-savvy with a smartphone
• Excellent communication skills & grammar
• Own a reliable vehicle with valid license, registration & insurance; willingness to transport dogs
• Local to the community
• Pet CPR/First-Aid certified or willing to take a class
• Willing to work with us for at least a year
• Available on rotation to dog walk/pet sit on holidays, as needed
• Pass a criminal / background check

• Experience in pet care (1 year preferred)

Responsibilities

• Walk dogs on a regular basis, ensuring their safety and well-being
• Engage in playtime activities with dogs to promote physical and mental stimulation
• Provide basic care for dogs and cats, including feeding and watering
• Clean up after dogs during walks and dispose of waste properly
• Monitor dogs for any signs of distress or illness and report to the supervisor
• Clean cat and other small pets' litter and cages and sweep surrounding area
• Follow specific instructions provided by owners regarding their pets' care and behavior
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for both the dogs and yourself during walks
• Provide excellent customer service to pet owners, addressing any concerns or questions they may have
