About the position
The Employment Facilitator role at Serco involves assisting transitioning military servicemen and women as they adapt to civilian life. This position is part of the Department of Labor's Veterans' Employment and Training Service (VETS) program, which provides job assistance workshops, employment counseling, and employer outreach to support veterans in their transition. The facilitator will guide military personnel in identifying their career goals, help them understand the job application process, and provide comprehensive training on preparing for civilian employment.
Responsibilities
- Teach and instruct military personnel transitioning to civilian occupations.
- Guide transitioning servicemembers in identifying career goals and recognizing employment or education gaps.
- Organize and manage an office effectively.
- Provide comprehensive understanding of job searching, application processes, and technical training opportunities to servicemembers and their families.
- Conduct large group instruction and provide counseling on the job search process.
Requirements
- High School Diploma and 3+ years of experience as a professional trainer or facilitator, or an Associate's degree.
- Experience demonstrating understanding of private and public sector employment processes.
- Experience as a classroom instructor.
- Knowledgeable of workplace requirements for various jobs.
- Ability to provide training to groups of up to 50 participants.
- Proficient in MS Windows and Office.
- Effective communication skills with military clients and ability to engage an audience.
