About the position

The Domain Architect - Data, Senior Specialist role at The Vanguard Group involves engaging in database design, data modeling, and the development of data warehouse applications and Business Intelligence reports. The position focuses on translating business needs into long-term architecture solutions, ensuring high-quality outcomes in data architecture, and enhancing data systems according to established standards. The role also includes analyzing business needs, conducting data cleansing, and collaborating with project staff to make informed decisions regarding data architecture development.

Responsibilities

• Engage in database design, data modeling, and data warehouse applications using best practices and tools.
• Evaluate the reusability of current data for separate analyses.
• Translate business needs into long-term architecture solutions for clients.
• Deliver high-quality data architect-related outcomes, including data warehouse designs and system enhancements.
• Analyze business needs and work with project staff to make decisions on data architect development.
• Conduct data cleansing to remove old, unused, or duplicate data.
• Review object and data models and the metadata repository for better data management and access.
• Resolve routine issues with business analysts and technology teams regarding data warehousing methods.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic(s) Engineering, or a closely related IT field.
• Five years of experience in the job offered or in IT positions such as Vice President, Software Engineer, or I.T. Analyst.
• Experience designing big data solutions using AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and design, including data modeling and database management.
• Expertise in big data management languages such as Python and PySpark, including performance tuning techniques.
• Proficiency in modern SQL languages, particularly PostgreSQL, and optimization techniques.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.
• Familiarity with data analytics/visualization tools like Tableau or Qlik.
