About the position

The Domestic Violence Case Manager Advocate at Advocate Program, Inc. plays a crucial role in facilitating social change and enhancing public safety through various services aimed at individuals affected by domestic violence and related issues. This part-time position involves conducting assessments, managing cases, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure clients receive the necessary support and treatment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial interviews with clients referred from Domestic Violence and Felony Drug Court.
  • Conduct financial screenings for clients being referred for treatment.
  • Assess client needs to ensure proper treatment placement and/or referral.
  • Assist and refer clients needing services to the Social Services Department when necessary.
  • Conduct monthly reports on probationers and perform urinalysis testing as needed.
  • Prepare for and attend Domestic Violence Drug Court Calendars weekly, preparing reports for judges and the State Attorney's Office.
  • Request compliance reports from local treatment providers and update client files accordingly.
  • Work closely with Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office, Miami-Dade Clerk of Courts, and the Eleventh Judicial Circuit.
  • Manage cases by reviewing daily, referring clients to mental health and substance abuse centers, and appearing in court as needed.
  • Post all client/case information into the system and handle filing and client communications.
  • Assist the unit in achieving service and fee collection goals as identified yearly.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as determined by the Unit Manager.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or related field, or a high school diploma with over 5 years of work experience in a criminal justice setting.
  • 5 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Computer skills.
