Goodwill Industries of the Valleys is seeking a dedicated Donated Goods Processor/Donor Greeter to join our team in Wytheville, VA. In this role, you will assist with the receiving and initial separation of donated goods, ensuring that items are properly examined and sorted. You will conduct final quality inspections of soft goods, utilizing established selection criteria to determine whether items should be placed for sale or salvage. Additionally, you will be responsible for hanging garments to meet daily hang counts and preparing items for truck pick-up. Excellent customer service skills are essential, as you will interact with donors and customers, representing Goodwill's mission and values. Responsibilities
- Assist as required with the receiving and initial separation of donated goods.
- Examine and conduct final quality inspection of soft goods using selection criteria and place into appropriate containers for sale or for salvage.
- Hang garments as necessary to achieve daily hang counts.
- Take bale and pull buggy to staging area for truck pick up.
- Utilize excellent customer service skills.
Requirements
- A high school graduate or have equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Reliable and looking to join a team with advancement potential.
- Able to lift to 50 pounds, with or without assistance and/or accommodations.
- Experienced in retail production, or possess a customer service mindset.
