About the position
The Donation Attendant at The Salvation Army ARC Las Vegas plays a crucial role in supporting the Adult Rehabilitation Program by managing the donation process and ensuring a positive experience for donors. This position involves maintaining the donation area, assisting donors, and sorting donated items, all while promoting teamwork and customer service within the retail team.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining and cleaning up the area in and around the Donation trailer/pod at the beginning and end of each shift
- Assisting the donor in the receipt of donated items and providing receipts
- Maintaining all reports and paperwork as instructed by Supervisor
- Separating and sorting all donated material into the proper containers and properly stacking material as instructed by the Supervisor
- Assisting TSA PA/Drivers with loading donations onto trucks as necessary
- Informing the supervisor of needed items prior to running out (i.e.: brooms, receipts, totes, carts, etc.)
- Securing and locking Donation trailer/pod at the end of each shift
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to pass a background check, including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry
- Ability to read, write, and understand both written and verbal instructions
- Effective communication skills with management, fellow employees, customers, and donors
- Physical ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
- Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, carts, and merchandise
- Ability to move product up to 75lbs
- Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks
