About the position

The Donor Collection Experience Specialist is responsible for coordinating all aspects of managing and preparing a donor's collection and donation experience at an NMDP apheresis or marrow collection center. This role focuses on delivering an exceptional donor experience, ensuring that all activities related to donor collection are executed smoothly and efficiently, while meeting the needs of transplant centers and patients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for the day of collection by obtaining donor demographics and collection documents, coordinating donor registration, and completing scheduling requirements.
• Schedule donor activities, including physical exams and marrow collections, and arrange local lodging and transportation as needed.
• Serve as the main point of contact at the collection center, triaging communications between donors and donor centers.
• Collect relevant medical documentation to prepare donor charts.
• Support day of collection activities by ensuring labs are drawn, labeled, and shipped, and providing necessary documents to accompany the product.
• Interact with NMDP Medical Services and donor center team members to address issues during collection.
• Compile medical and laboratory documentation post-collection.
• Assist with post-donation activities, ensuring continuity of care and contacting donors as needed.
• Complete NMDP forms and enter information into appropriate systems within designated timelines.
• Triaging billing issues and acting as a liaison with the billing department to ensure donors do not receive bills.
• Elevate the donor experience through extraordinary service and personalized experiences.
• Establish rapport with donors and swiftly resolve issues with minimal disruption.

• Proficiency in using computer systems for data entry and documentation.
