About the position

The Full-Time Donor Database Manager at Cassia plays a crucial role in the Philanthropy team, responsible for managing donor database administration, processing donations, and ensuring effective communication between the philanthropy office and other departments. This position emphasizes the importance of data integrity and gift stewardship while fostering a fun and collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees processing of all donations
  • Provides technical and strategic leadership in fundraising systems, gift and biographical data entry, end user support and training, reporting, data analysis and database management.
  • Primary owner of DonorPerfect software tools, exploring, recommending, and executing queries, data modeling, contact list segmentation, and reporting to support development outreach efforts and donor solicitation plans.
  • Creates training and instruction for DonorPerfect users.
  • Provides reporting on all gift data.
  • Oversees mailing lists to target specific audiences for all fundraising strategies.
  • Ensures contributions are processed and meaningful acknowledgements are mailed within two days of receipt; maintains current, accurate gift records in the donor database.
  • Collaborates with campuses on donor wall and other public donor recognition opportunities.
  • Develops and implements best practice standard operating procedures for workflow related to the donor database, in conjunction with key stakeholders including all sites involved in fundraising as well as accounting department and IT.
  • Manages vendors who provide donation processing and other services to the development department; researches and implements new vendors and processes as needed.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in donor database management and gift stewardship preferred
  • Knowledge of charitable giving related tax law as it relates to donation receipts
  • Ability to empathize with donors and clearly communicate the organization's mission
  • Capable of sharing a genuine passion for data integrity and gift stewardship to energize team members and persuade site-based staff
  • High ethical standards as it relates to all work, including the donor bill of rights
  • Ability to maintain an organized schedule of workload
  • Maintains professional appearance and approach
  • Able to maintain confidential information
