About the position

The Donor Development Specialist at Remote Area Medical plays a crucial role in cultivating and strengthening relationships with potential and current donors. This position involves managing a portfolio of donors, developing fundraising strategies, and supporting fundraising efforts through research and stewardship. The specialist will work closely with the Chief Development Officer and the fundraising team to enhance donor engagement and drive fundraising initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the fundraising team on individual, planned, and corporate giving initiatives.
  • Identify potential major donors and steward existing donors.
  • Maintain a schedule for all fundraising deadlines.
  • Manage and conduct activities for individual donor solicitation.
  • Conduct research to evaluate prospects for individual gifts.
  • Contribute to the creation of an annual fundraising schedule.
  • Utilize RAM's CRM database, Microsoft Dynamics, to ensure donor information is accurate.
  • Use Microsoft Dynamics for reporting, analysis, and communications.
  • Send fundraising documents for review and approval before submission.
  • Follow up with donors and set up appointments for senior staff.
  • Arrange on-site and clinic tours for donors and prospective donors.
  • Travel to clinics as needed to meet with donors.
  • Develop and lead fundraising projects and initiatives as requested.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support fundraising campaigns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Nonprofit Management, Communications, or related field.
  • Two to four years of experience in fundraising.
  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics is preferred.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Pleasant and professional demeanor with a 'can do' attitude.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, G Suite, and other desktop applications.
  • Attention to detail and flexibility.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in nonprofit management.
  • Knowledge of fundraising strategies, processes, and trends.
