About the position

The Donor Engagement Specialist, Bilingual, Korean is a remote position focused on engaging and supporting donors in the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) registry. The role requires excellent customer service skills to assist donors in understanding the donation process, addressing misconceptions, and ensuring their commitment to saving patients' lives. The specialist will utilize investigative skills to locate and contact donors, manage donor records, and coordinate necessary activities related to blood donation.

Responsibilities

  • Contact members/donors for donor search-related activities and locate donors using provided data and internet search tools.
  • Educate donors about the donation process and reinforce commitment and retention messages.
  • Conduct advanced donor health screenings and assess medical conditions to determine participation.
  • Coordinate blood draws, including appointment scheduling and kit tracking.
  • Complete operational activities within established timelines and maintain compliance with performance standards.
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with donor operations, collaborating departments, and external vendors.
  • Assist in maintaining the STAR Link donor database and participate in shared team responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of MS Office, including basic word processing, spreadsheet, and database software application skills.
  • Proficient computer skills and ability to engage with customers simultaneously.
  • Advanced internet research skills, including familiarity with social media.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to ask probing questions in a call center environment.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of challenging file types and deliver solid customer service.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a mission-driven call center environment.
  • Familiarity with HLA and blood stem cell transplantation.
