About the position
The Donor Engagement Specialist is a remote position focused on engaging with donors on the NMDP registry to facilitate the donation process. This role requires strong communication skills to educate and reassure donors, manage their health screenings, and coordinate necessary follow-up actions. The specialist will utilize investigative skills to locate donors and ensure their participation in the donation process, all while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to compliance standards.
Responsibilities
- Contact members/donors for donor search-related activities and locate donors using provided data and internet search tools.
- Educate donors about the donation process and reinforce commitment and retention messages.
- Conduct advanced donor health screenings and assess medical conditions to determine participation.
- Coordinate blood draws, including appointment scheduling and kit tracking.
- Document all donor activity in the STAR Link/Salesforce donor file and maintain compliance with performance standards.
- Establish and maintain relationships with donor operations, collaborating departments, and external vendors.
- Assist in maintaining the STAR Link donor database and participate in team responsibilities.
Requirements
- Knowledge of MS Office, including basic word processing, spreadsheet, and database software application skills.
- Proficient computer skills and ability to engage with customers simultaneously.
- Advanced internet research skills, including familiarity with social media.
- Strong communication skills and ability to ask probing questions in a call center environment.
- Ability to manage a high volume of challenging file types and deliver solid customer service.
