About the position

The Donor Greeter position at Memphis Goodwill Industries involves welcoming and assisting donors at the donation drive-through. The role focuses on providing excellent customer service, ensuring safety during the donation process, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Responsibilities

• Greets donors within 10 seconds of arrival in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner.
• Assists donors with the unloading of donations from vehicles, trailers, etc.
• Offers and provides tax receipts to donors.
• Maintains accurate daily counts of donations.
• Processes donations according to GGC Processing Procedures.
• Uses proper safety procedures when lifting heavy items, handling sharp items, chemicals, and wrapping fragile items.
• Maintains a neat, clean, and organized donation drive-through and work area.
• Reviews and utilizes current Consumer Product Safety Commission Recall publications to prevent unsafe items from being sold in the store.
• Assists customers with loading furniture and other large items.
• Removes large, purchased items from the sales floor, properly tags, and stores items in the appropriate will-call section for customer pick-up.
• Assists truck driver with loading and unloading the truck.
• Assists with cleaning and maintaining the cleanliness of the sales floor and restrooms.
• Always adheres to Memphis Goodwill safety rules.
• Attends in-service and related training as assigned by TLC.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the TLC and/or ATL.

Requirements

• Ability to greet and assist donors in a friendly manner.
• Basic knowledge of safety procedures for handling donations.
• Ability to maintain accurate records of donations.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in customer service or retail environments.
• Familiarity with donation processing procedures.
