About the position

The Donor Referral Specialist plays a crucial role within the Donor Services Team at Lions World Vision Institute, focusing on delivering exceptional customer service to various stakeholders involved in tissue and eye donation. This position requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment, handling incoming calls and referrals, and ensuring effective communication with partner organizations and potential donor families.

Responsibilities

• Deliver quality customer service to stakeholders including partner OPOs, tissue banks, hospitals, and donor families.
• Answer incoming department phone lines and triage calls appropriately.
• Maintain department inbox, process incoming referrals, and update records.
• Input and update referrals to determine appropriate tissue and/or eye referrals.
• Monitor potential research dashboard for suitability for research donation.
• Communicate facility relations concerns or feedback to leadership.
• Attend required meetings and trainings as necessary.
• Complete donor registry checks and next-of-kin searches.
• Assist with dispatches and communications to recovery staff according to protocols.
• Meet targeted benchmarks driven by key performance indicators.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with medical terminology preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and typing at least 45 wpm.
• Ability to communicate professionally with internal and external customers.
