About the position

The Donor Specialist - Mobile Operations is responsible for providing excellent customer service while conducting donor registration, interviews, limited physical assessments, and Whole Blood Phlebotomies. This role involves monitoring donor recovery, managing adverse reactions, and ensuring quality control of equipment and supplies. The position requires interaction with donors and the public, emphasizing a high standard of service and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Conduct donor registration and interviews, both manually and on computer.
• Perform physical assessments including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and hematocrit/hemoglobin tests.
• Prepare pre-donation Apheresis samples and conduct phlebotomy for blood collection.
• Monitor donor recovery and manage adverse reactions during and after donation.
• Prepare blood units for transport to the laboratory and assist with donor recovery.
• Conduct daily equipment and supply setup, breakdown, and quality control checks.
• Complete all required documentation accurately regarding donors and procedures.
• Actively recruit donors for various Blood Bank Programs and promotions.
• Work at different draw locations as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One to two years of customer service experience preferred.
• Valid Driver's License and current CPR Certification required.
• Emergency Medical Technician Certificate, Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant Diploma, or Phlebotomy Certificate preferred.
