About the position

The Donor Specialist in Mobile Operations at LifeStream is responsible for providing excellent customer service while conducting donor registration, interviews, and Whole Blood Phlebotomies. This role involves monitoring donor recovery, managing adverse reactions, and ensuring quality control of equipment and supplies. The position requires interaction with donors and the public, emphasizing professionalism and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct donor registration and interviews both manually and on the computer.
• Perform physical assessments including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and hematocrit/hemoglobin tests.
• Prepare pre-donation Apheresis samples and conduct Whole Blood phlebotomies.
• Monitor donor recovery and manage adverse reactions during and after donation.
• Prepare blood units for transport to the laboratory and assist with donor recovery.
• Conduct daily equipment and supply setup, breakdown, and quality control checks.
• Accurately document all procedures, donor information, and quality control records.
• Actively recruit donors for various Blood Bank Programs and promotions.
• Work at different draw locations as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One to two years of customer service experience preferred.
• Current CPR Certification and California Driver's License required.
• Certified Phlebotomy Technician or similar certification preferred.
• Ability to perform successful venipunctures and work with blood.

Nice-to-haves

• Medical Assistant Diploma or Certified Nursing Assistant Diploma.
• Emergency Medical Technician Certificate or similar military experience.
