About the position

The Donor Stewardship Specialist - Donor Advised Funds at Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) plays a crucial role in cultivating and managing relationships with Donor Advised Fund (DAF) donors. This position is responsible for ensuring effective stewardship of donor contributions, tracking them within WWP databases, and promoting the benefits of giving through DAFs. The specialist will work closely with both donors and institutional charitable organizations to foster strong connections and ensure that all parties feel valued and informed about the impact of their contributions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Donor Stewardship Associate Director to develop and implement personalized stewardship plans to engage, retain and increase DAF donors.
  • Share common KPIs related to increasing the number of DAF donors and the amount of funds raised through DAFs annually with the Director and Associate Director.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for DAF donors, providing exceptional customer service and timely responses to inquiries.
  • Develop new innovative ways to steward DAF donors through collaborative efforts across WWP Departments and outside vendors.
  • Monitor and manage a portfolio of WWP DAF Donors and 300+ institutional charitable organizations by building and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Identify and research potential DAF donors and institutional charitable organizations.
  • Track engagement to ensure consistent and meaningful interactions in WWP databases, DMI and Salesforce.
  • Collaborate with the Donor Stewardship Associate Director to implement a donor recognition program to show appreciation and acknowledge contributions.
  • Create and maintain the Premium Gift Gratitude Guide as well as fulfill and track gratitude requests.
  • Support stewardship visits and special events, in person and virtually, including planning and executing donor-related events.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience in donor stewardship.
  • Two years of experience with Salesforce NPSP, or similar CRM.
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel and SharePoint.
  • Bachelor's degree in business communications, marketing, or related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Three years of experience working in a non-profit or philanthropic organization.
