About the position

As a Direct Support Professional at Devereux, you will work directly with children and young adults aged 8-21 who have intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), behavioral health (BH), and mental health (MH) diagnoses. Your role will focus on implementing behavior management strategies and assisting individuals in their daily lives, helping them unlock their full potential in a supportive and therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities

• Assisting individuals 1:1 with their individualized plans for daily life, including health & hygiene management, cooking, cleaning, and recreation.
• Ensuring individuals are healthy and living in a clean environment.
• Maintaining a safe and therapeutic treatment environment that meets the physical, emotional, and personal needs of program clients.
• Participating in the planning, implementation, and documentation of programs designed to meet the social, emotional, physical, and personal needs of individuals.
• Providing accurate documentation including shift reports, incident reports, and individual progress notes.
• Coordinating group outings and activities for individuals.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required; education evaluation required if education was acquired outside the U.S.
• Some experience in behavioral health preferred.
