About the position

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) role at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health involves working directly with children and young adults aged 8-21 who have intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), behavioral health (BH), and mental health (MH) diagnoses. The DSP will implement individualized care plans, assist with daily living activities, and create a safe and therapeutic environment to support the personal growth and well-being of the individuals in their care.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals 1:1 with their individualized plans for daily life, including health and hygiene management, cooking, cleaning, and recreation.
• Ensure individuals are healthy and living in a clean environment.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic treatment environment that meets the physical, emotional, and personal needs of program clients.
• Participate in the planning, implementation, and documentation of programs designed to meet the social, emotional, physical, and personal needs of the individuals.
• Provide accurate documentation including shift reports, incident reports, and individual progress notes.
• Coordinate group outings and activities for individuals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Some experience in behavioral health preferred.
