About the position

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, you will play a crucial role in positively impacting the lives of children and youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), behavioral health (BH), and mental health (MH) diagnoses. This position involves working one-on-one with individuals aged 8-21, implementing behavior management strategies, and assisting them in their daily activities to help unlock their full potential.

Responsibilities

• Assisting individuals 1:1 with their individualized plans for daily life, including health & hygiene management, cooking, cleaning, and recreation.
• Ensuring individuals are healthy and living in a clean environment.
• Maintaining a safe and therapeutic treatment environment that meets the physical, emotional, and personal needs of program clients.
• Participating in the planning, implementation, and documentation of programs designed to meet the social, emotional, physical, and personal needs of the individuals.
• Providing accurate documentation including shift reports, incident reports, and individual progress notes.
• Coordinating group outings and activities for individuals.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Some experience in behavioral health preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in school settings or with children and youth.
• Knowledge of behavior management strategies.
