About the position

The Door Shop Production Manager at OrePac Holding Company is responsible for overseeing daily production in the door shop, ensuring productivity goals are met while maintaining high-quality standards. This role involves managing a team, fostering employee engagement, and ensuring a safe working environment. The manager will also collaborate with the Operations Manager on budget requirements and implement improvements in production methods and equipment performance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily production in the door shop to meet productivity goals.
• Manage staffing, including interviewing, hiring, training, and performance appraisals.
• Plan, assign, and direct work while addressing personnel issues and complaints.
• Ensure safe operation of door shop equipment and tools by employees.
• Collaborate with operations leadership to resolve challenges and maintain a safe work environment.
• Conduct audits of completed products and production workflow to ensure quality and productivity goals are met.
• Recommend measures to improve production methods and equipment performance.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment while achieving productivity goals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3-5 years of related experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Experience in leading teams and handling personnel conflicts.
• Ability to problem solve minor to complex challenges within the department.
• Excellent communication skills and comfortability speaking in front of groups.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience with hand tools and power tools.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience using door cut out machines, mills, saws, joiners, nail guns, and other carpentry tools.
