About the position

The Operations Review Specialist position within the Department of State's Division of Elections is responsible for assisting with administrative, programmatic, and operational activities related to voter registration services. The role involves analyzing voter eligibility, interacting with external agencies, and maintaining knowledge of various state and federal databases to ensure compliance and accuracy in voter registration processes.

Responsibilities

• Create and review comprehensive case files to determine voter eligibility.
• Interact with external agencies to request additional information for eligibility analysis.
• Maintain knowledge of various databases and systems related to voter registration and criminal justice.
• Perform analytical work-related duties as required.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; OR four years of relevant work experience; OR an associate's degree from an accredited college or university AND two years of relevant work experience; OR at least six months performing the job duties of this position.
• Ability to work independently and collect, organize, and analyze data.
• Effective communication skills and ability to use deductive reasoning.
• Proficiency in computer-based programs.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with BVRSA, CCIS, DAVID, DOC, FVRS, and Voter Focus.
• Experience investigating or performing legal research of criminal case histories or clemencies.
• Fluency in Spanish.
