About the position
The Certified Medical Dosimetrist is responsible for performing treatment planning procedures, including dose calculations and computerized treatment plans, within a nonprofit healthcare network serving a large population in Southern California. This role requires collaboration with medical physicists and radiation oncologists to ensure effective patient care and safety in radiation therapy.
Responsibilities
- Perform treatment planning procedures including dose calculations and computerized treatment plans.
- Generate dose distributions in collaboration with medical physicists and radiation oncologists.
- Conduct quality analysis of radiation therapy equipment.
- Ensure compliance with Title 17 and principles of radiation safety.
- Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited radiotherapy program.
- Hold R.T.(T) and CRT certificates.
- Possess Dosimetry Certification.
- Minimum three (3) years experience as a radiation therapy technologist.
- Knowledge of various types of radiation oncology equipment.
Nice-to-haves
- B.S. Degree preferred.
- Proficient skills in treatment planning programs such as Eclipse and CMS.
- Technical skills in the operation of radiation oncology equipment.
- Ability to work with patients of all ages, from adolescence through elderly.
