About the position

The Certified Medical Dosimetrist is responsible for performing treatment planning procedures, including dose calculations and computerized treatment plans, within a nonprofit healthcare network serving a large population in Southern California. This role requires collaboration with medical physicists and radiation oncologists to ensure effective patient care and safety in radiation therapy.

Responsibilities

  • Perform treatment planning procedures including dose calculations and computerized treatment plans.
  • Generate dose distributions in collaboration with medical physicists and radiation oncologists.
  • Conduct quality analysis of radiation therapy equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with Title 17 and principles of radiation safety.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited radiotherapy program.
  • Hold R.T.(T) and CRT certificates.
  • Possess Dosimetry Certification.
  • Minimum three (3) years experience as a radiation therapy technologist.
  • Knowledge of various types of radiation oncology equipment.

Nice-to-haves

  • B.S. Degree preferred.
  • Proficient skills in treatment planning programs such as Eclipse and CMS.
  • Technical skills in the operation of radiation oncology equipment.
  • Ability to work with patients of all ages, from adolescence through elderly.
