About the position

The Dosimetrist I position in Oncology Treatment at Gainesville involves assisting in clinical dosimetry for teletherapy and brachytherapy for both adult and pediatric patients. The role is part of a renowned team within a leading cancer care center, focusing on advanced treatment planning and participation in clinical trials. The position requires collaboration with various healthcare professionals and includes responsibilities in quality improvement and training of medical residents and students. The work environment is hybrid, allowing for a combination of remote and on-site work.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in clinical dosimetry for teletherapy and brachytherapy of adult and pediatric patients.
  • Collaborate with a team of Dosimetrists, Radiation Oncologists, PhD Physicists, Medical Residents, Physics Residents, and Radiation Therapists.
  • Utilize advanced equipment for MR Linac adaptive radiotherapy, auto-contouring, and auto-segmentation.
  • Participate as a member of the Quality Team and engage in process improvement initiatives.
  • Train and mentor Medical Residents, Physics Residents, Medical students, and Radiation Therapy students.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a formal training program in Medical Dosimetry.
  • Board certified by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB) or eligible to take the Boards.
  • Certification by the MDCB must be obtained within two attempts in the first year of employment for those eligible.
  • For Dosimetrists trained prior to educational requirement changes, certification by the MDCB and an ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy is acceptable.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with IMRT, SBRT, and VMAT planning.
  • Experience with Velocity image registration, Pinnacle treatment planning, and MOSAIQ.
