About the position

The Dosimetrist at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission plays a crucial role in the radiation oncology team, utilizing their expertise to generate radiation dose distributions and calculations in collaboration with radiation oncologists. This part-time position emphasizes the importance of whole-person care, ensuring that patients receive optimal treatment while considering their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a member of the radiation oncology team, providing expertise on treatment machines and equipment.
• Generate radiation dose distributions and dose calculations in collaboration with the radiation oncologist.
• Design patient radiation treatment plans using a 3D treatment planning computer.
• Contour critical normal structures with extreme accuracy based on 3D CT anatomy.
• Transfer technical documentation and plan parameters to ensure accurate radiation treatment delivery.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 1 Year of Experience
• Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD)
