About the position

The Part-Time DOT Material Handler at Ferrellgas is responsible for inspecting, filling, and loading propane cylinders for drivers and customers. This role also involves assisting in propane delivery to customer locations while ensuring efficiency, punctuality, and customer satisfaction. The position requires a CDL license with HAZMAT and tank endorsement, or the ability to obtain it promptly. The Material Handler must work independently and be capable of lifting up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, repairs, fills and loads cylinders.
• Handles and maintains flow of materials and products under safety guidelines.
• Scrapes and paints cylinders and tanks as needed.
• Maintains service center office, plant, and yard for a professional appearance.
• Promotes safety and customer satisfaction.
• Loads, secures, transports, delivers, and unloads propane to and from specified destinations.
• Follows DOT related safety procedures including safety inspections on equipment, supplies, and vehicles.
• Ensures all DOT requirements are always met.
• Performs responsibilities in on-call rotation for after hours and weekend emergency deliveries or response.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1+ years of related work experience.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.
• Must pass background check and drug screen.
• Genuine commitment to providing superior customer service.
• Class A or B CDL license with hazmat and tanker endorsements preferred or willingness and ability to obtain license in a quick and timely manner.
• Ability to pass DOT physical and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check.
