Insight Global is partnering with a Department of Transportation contractor to recruit an Area Manager/ Senior Project Manager. This is a direct placement role working full time for our client. This role is based in Miami, FL and will require regular local travel for site visits.
The Project Manager will be responsible for interacting and collaborating on department of transportation (DOT) and FDOT projects as they pertain to roadway enhancements. This includes but is not limited to:
Oversee and manage construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Utilize experience with DOT contracting to manage project requirements, including order changes, inventory counts (materials and labor), and adherence to DOT regulations.
Develop and maintain construction schedules that are realistic and efficient, coordinating with in-house teams and subcontractors.
Monitor project budgets, ensuring costs are controlled and projects remain financially viable.
Handle change orders, prepare cost estimates, and manage project scope adjustments as needed.
Interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings to guide project execution.
Manage projects related to roadway construction, including asphalt paving and the installation of traffic lights.
Start with smaller projects, with the potential to manage larger, more complex projects as experience and performance dictate.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Construction Project Manager, particularly with DOT related projects.
Strong understanding of DOT contracting processes and requirements.
Excellent project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Ability to work effectively with in-house teams and subcontractors
Knowledge of asphalt paving, traffic light installation or related areas (direct experience is a plus)
Must have a valid Driver's License
Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
Nice to Have Skills & Experience:
Bachelor s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Hands on experience with Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)
Experience with Primavera / P6
Additional Notes:
Employees are eligible for a company vehicle or gas reimbursement for all work related travel needs
30-40% of travel is required for site visits
