About the position

Do you love the history and culture of Philadelphia? Do you want to share this amazing city with guests from all over the world? Philadelphia Sightseeing Tours is currently hiring seasonal part-time and full-time tour guides for our busy season. Philadelphia Sightseeing Tours is a locally operated company that prides itself on delivering the safest, most accurate, and entertaining tours of the city, along with comfortable and affordable charter services. Our guides run both double-decker hop-on hop-off tours, walking tours, night tours, and seasonal themed tours. We are especially interested in meeting you if you have a background in the performing arts, history, and/or education, enjoy meeting new people, and can work well independently. As a tour guide, you will be responsible for providing engaging and informative tours to guests, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the experience. You will need to think well on your feet, have a high attention to detail, and provide a high level of customer service. The role requires you to be reliable and punctual, able to work in all weather conditions, and capable of walking up stairs and standing on uneven surfaces, such as Philadelphia sidewalks. Tour guides are paid per tour in addition to their tips, with the potential to earn around $100 for four tours and up to $100 in tips per day during the busy summer months. The busy season typically runs from mid-March to mid-October, and guides are usually scheduled for full eight-hour days. A paid training period of a minimum of 40 hours will be provided at the start of the season before you are assigned to solo tours.
