About the position

The Downstream Process Development Engineer will be responsible for performing lab-scale downstream processing of vaccine products and process intermediates. This role involves conducting assays on vaccine products, process intermediates, and related experimental samples using biochemical and analytical tests. The engineer will also prepare solutions and reagents, set up process equipment for lab-scale experiments, and maintain records and experimental results in compliance with good manufacturing practices (GMP). The ideal candidate for this position will possess strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills, along with excellent communication abilities, both oral and written. Attention to detail is crucial, as is the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude are essential traits for success in this role. The candidate should be able to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies. Proven ability to work independently in a hands-on laboratory setting is also required. This is a full-time and permanent position, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, and overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance to West Point, PA, are encouraged to apply, as on-site work is expected to be effective in this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or other related degree concentration
  • 0 - 2 years of industry experience

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
  • Proven ability to work independently in a hands-on laboratory setting
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
