About the position

The DPA Grant-Specific Videographer position at Montana Technological University is a full-time, on-site role focused on creating high-quality video content for DPA-grant funded courses. The videographer will collaborate with faculty, instructional designers, and industry representatives to produce engaging educational materials and promotional content that highlights the unique opportunities of the program. This role is essential for enhancing the learning experience of professional-level students in various engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with industry representatives and the external advisory board to create promotional content for the program.
  • Design top-quality asynchronous audio/video content for professional-level students in metallurgical, geological, mining, and environmental engineering.
  • Assist DPA instructional designers in creating video/audio content that adheres to best practices for alignment, intellectual property, and accessibility.
  • Coordinate with the Director of the Center for Academic Innovation and Subject Matter Experts to ensure course content is accessible and usable.
  • Participate in course design reviews and revise video/audio content as needed.
  • Stay on schedule and produce completed deliverables on time.

Requirements

  • BS in videography/audiography or related field, or a portfolio of work.
  • Ability to apply best practice techniques to video planning and production.
  • Demonstrated experience creating video content for distance learning.
  • Experience designing content to meet accreditation and regulatory compliance requirements, especially for accessibility.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty and experts in their fields.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Availability for regular meetings with faculty and relevant individuals.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with instructors in metallurgical, geological, mining, and environmental engineering.
  • Experience as an online student in higher education, preferably in a STEM discipline.
  • Experience building engaging content with a focus on usability and accessibility.
  • Familiarity with Quality Matters or similar quality assurance programs for distance learning.
