The Texas Department of Public Safety is seeking a Temporary License Specialist II for the Regulatory Operations division in Edinburg, TX. This position is responsible for performing moderately complex licensing and permitting work, which includes receiving and reviewing applications for driver licenses and permits, ensuring compliance with applicable policies, administrative codes, and statutes. The specialist will communicate with both external and internal customers, providing information and assistance regarding driver license laws and procedures, safety responsibility laws, and other services available through the Department and state agencies. The role requires the administration of driver license tests and responding to inquiries from the public, all while working under general supervision with limited latitude for independent judgment. The position is temporary and will conclude on August 31, 2025, or until funding is depleted. The work schedule is full-time, with standard hours of 40 per week, and may require extended hours, beginning as early as 7:00 AM and ending as late as 8:00 PM.
