About the position

We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CAD Designer to join our engineering team. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for design and engineering who is eager to contribute to our diverse projects. The successful candidate will work closely with our engineers to create detailed drawings and models that meet project specifications and industry standards. In this role, you will develop and prepare detailed CAD drawings from sketches, specifications, and verbal instructions. You will create both 2D and 3D models using CAD software such as Creo or Inventor. Additionally, you will assist in the design and layout of water treatment equipment and systems, collaborating with engineers and project managers to ensure that designs are accurate and meet project requirements. You will also be responsible for revising drawings and models based on feedback from engineers and clients, maintaining organized records of all drawings and project documentation, and participating in project meetings to contribute to the development of design solutions. Compliance with company standards, industry codes, and safety regulations is crucial, and you will monitor project progress to keep everything on schedule while reporting any potential delays. Responsibilities

  • Develop and prepare detailed CAD drawings from sketches, specifications, and verbal instructions.
  • Create 2D and 3D models using CAD software (Creo or Inventor).
  • Assist in the design and layout of water treatment equipment and systems.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure designs are accurate and meet project requirements.
  • Revise drawings and models based on feedback from engineers and clients.
  • Maintain organized records of all drawings and project documentation.
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to the development of design solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, industry codes, and safety regulations.
  • Monitor progress to keep projects on schedule and report any potential delays.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Drafting, CAD Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in CAD design (internships or co-op experience considered).
  • Proficiency in Creo or Inventor CAD software.
  • Basic understanding of engineering principles and construction methods.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in design work.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering technology, drafting, 3D CAD, or related field.
  • Experience with water treatment or liquid/solids separation projects.
  • Experience in construction and fabrication.
  • Certification in CAD software.
  • Experience working in office team environments.
  • Proficient use of MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS TEAMS.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and codes is a plus (AWS, API, ASME, AISC, ASCE, etc).
