Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman's Space Systems - Propulsion Division is seeking an Electrical Drafter 3/4 to join our team. This position will be located at our location in Bacchus (West Valley), UT.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the concept and layout of construction and fabrication drawings per Electrical Engineer's requirements.
  • Preparing working drawings for construction and as-built drawings using AutoCAD by Autodesk.
  • Creating P&ID's, conduit and lighting layouts, schematic and wiring (interconnection) diagrams, instrumentation loop sheets, conduit, grounding, and lightning protection plans.
  • Creating proper annotation and dimensioning in drawings and models.
  • Reading and understanding blueprints from outside engineering firms and vendors.
  • Interfacing with review team to assure customer satisfaction with design.
  • Ensuring construction documents accuracy and clarity, including checking for drawing completeness before issuing and following up to ensure that drawings were received and are satisfactory.
  • Working closely with Engineers to create final drawings.
  • Reviewing engineering drawings and designs for accuracy, manufacturability, and constructability.
  • Supporting continuous improvement and Operations and Process Engineering.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.
  • For higher level: High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or related experience.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Raster design by Autodesk, ANSI/ISA and the NEC.

Nice-to-haves

  • Electrician or electrical experience.
  • Desire, i.e. passion, to generate complete and accurate drawings.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills in managing time, projects, and resources.
  • Leadership ability.
  • Technical attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Windows Office Suite to include Teams.
