About the position

Zachry Nuclear Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Drafter, Mechanical for a direct hire position located in either Stonington, CT or Charlotte, NC. This in-office role involves applying manual and computerized drafting methods to produce mechanical isometrics, plans, elevations, sections, and piping plans based on engineer sketches and vendor information. The Drafter will work under the direction of a supervisor and is expected to manage multiple projects concurrently while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Apply manual and computerized drafting methods to obtain the desired product.
• Prepare mechanical isometrics, plans, elevations, sections, and piping plans.
• Utilize engineer sketches and vendor information to create detailed drawings.
• Prepare bills of material and resolve client comments.
• Create as-built drawings as required.

Requirements

• High School diploma with coursework in drafting techniques or a Drafting Certificate.
• Experience in engineering drafting and familiarity with basic drafting techniques.
• Ability to accurately draw complex mechanical systems from sketches or specifications.
• Demonstrated ability to utilize various drafting and CADD techniques for project requirements.
• Proficiency in producing complex drawings in a 2-D and 3-D environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Effective time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• Experience with Laser Scanning tools, total stations, software, and registration.
