About the position

As a valuable member of our Water team, you will support project managers and engineers on the development of vertical projects, primarily consisting of wastewater and water treatment facilities and pumping stations. You will report to the Westwood office, but we are open to you working in the Tighe & Bond office closest to your home on a hybrid basis with summer Fridays. Our Wastewater Team and Projects consist of nearly 100 professional engineers who have recently received multiple ACEC Engineering Excellence and ASCE Project Awards. Our senior technical and project management leaders have earned an outstanding reputation with private, state, and local government clients. We provide planning, design, and construction phase services for the new construction, rehabilitation, and upgrading of water and wastewater treatment facilities and pump stations. Additionally, we offer design and construction phase services for municipal infrastructure systems, including sewer, water, storm drains, and roads, as well as buildings such as maintenance facilities, offices, and schools, dams and spillways, and bridges.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design and drafting of project drawings including plans, sections, elevations, process instrumentation diagrams, renderings, and typical details.
  • Provide design drafting to the project team for the development of wastewater and water treatment process piping, structural features, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Consult on the selection of equipment and constructability issues.
  • Provide guidance for drafting standards and procedures.
  • Mentor junior design/drafters and engineers.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience supporting project managers and engineers.
  • Specific experience in the development of wastewater and water treatment, pumping stations, chemical feed, HVAC/plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Diploma or certificate in civil technology or equivalent practical training.
  • Broad understanding of engineering drawings.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with municipal infrastructure systems design.
  • Familiarity with environmental engineering practices.
